Bristlecone Pine

In the White Mountains, on the eastern border of California is found the Bristlecone Pine the oldest tree on the planet. One Bristlecone named "Methuselah" has been dated to be 4,767 years old, more than a thousand years older than any other tree on earth. When the sun is setting over the Sierras to the west it lights the tree in a beautiful reddish light.
