Ringtail

Reserve Natural du Berenty, Madagascar.

On the southern end of Madagascar is found the land of the Ringtailed Lemur. This male and female spent the day grooming each other and holding hands has they sat. These comical primates are usually found in troops of 3 to 20 adults, and are very protective of their territory, and will fight of competing troops of both other Ringtails or their cousins, the Sifaka Lemur. They usually grow to the size of a large house cat and give birth to one, sometimes two young each year. Mothers carry their young on their hips for the first few months, then the babies ride on their backs.
